Some things never really change that much

Perhaps one of the few things that does not change that much with the passing of time is the daily routine and tradition of summer camp.  We have dug up quite a few old photos from the Bob Smith era — 1947 to 1979 — as an illustration.  Read the entire report, as I have surprises for you towards the end.

just as way back then.  That is the Freedom Field outfield fence at right, so they even had archery in the same place as we did for years.

Of course, they had a terrific waterfront area…

Nonetheless, boys still pay close attention to their counselors and everyone gets along just swell.

We teach row boating today… and now for the surprises…

and so did they.  However the “they” in this photo was old Camp Norway where my brother Billy takes me for a row boat ride in 1953 or 1954!

Kingswood has nature and crafts clinics …

That is Bob on the foul line as a senior camper in about 1960…

Oh, and there is the old Norway waterfront.  Notice any similarities?  Things do not change that much at camp!
